Government Technology’s passion is helping spread best practices and spurring innovation in the public sector. The Wisconsin Digital Government Summit is designed to do just that. The summit has an advisory board that gathers public sector and private sector leaders to create an agenda designed to make that passion relevant and actionable to the state and local government organizations attending the summit. Participants tell us they use the inspirational keynotes, leadership discussions, networking breaks, and timely topics discussed in the numerous breakout sessions to help advance the goals of their organizations and their own career paths.
This Year’s Topics Include:
2016 has been another year of growth and progress while being effective, efficient and accountable to achieve our top five priorities; job growth, workforce development, education reform, lean government, and investing in our infrastructure. We also continue to focus on our customers to ensure we are their provider of choice (vision) and that every citizen engagement is optimized (mission). Our four goals focus on innovation, e-government, infrastructure and workforce development. All related programs and projects are aligned with our enterprise strategies and individual departments and agency work plans. This collaboration offers consistency of best practices across the state’s IT organizations to achieve economies of scale, while also listening and soliciting great ideas from every corner of state and local government. We are confident we have an incredible staff throughout government that meets all challenges and seizes every opportunity to make Wisconsin a premier state. Our citizens will keep us challenged to be a digitally and secured ‘Smart State’.

Featured Speaker – Expectations of a Constantly Connected GenerationMadison BallroomMichael Hakkarinen, Instructional Technology Specialist, Utah Education Network (@edtechakk) Technology is transforming society in fundamental ways as new generations grow up using portable digital devices, often before they can even walk or talk. In this 24/7 online world we take connectivity and engagement for granted, evolving into a digitally divided society. The haves and have nots, the online and the disconnected, the technically savvy and the digitally discouraged. From millennials to baby boomers the differences between our generational expectations is growing and a new "fear of the young" has emerged. In this session we will discuss the challenges and opportunities that IT professionals face, and ask the difficult questions necessary to bring our culture together in a truly connected environment. |
