County CIO Bill Kehoe has been in his role since November of 2017 and reports directly to the county CEO. The CIO’s role includes supporting information security, data management, strategic consulting, strategic partnerships and more.

Chief Information Officer, Los Angeles County

Bill Kehoe has been a public-sector Chief Information Officer (CIO) since 2002 serving as a State Agency CIO at the State of Washington Department of Licensing from 2002 – 2010; at King County Washington from 2010 – 2017; and as Los Angeles County CIO from November 2017 – Present. Bill has provided strategic and operational leadership for key organizational and technology transformations as a CIO including: three mainframe migrations, two IT organization and technology consolidations, multiple data center consolidations, development of multiple online services for state and local government residents, hybrid cloud strategy and deployment, application rationalization and modernization, IT Governance, Innovation, IT Strategic Planning, Enterprise Architecture, Information Management, and Unified Communication services.
As the CIO for Los Angeles County, Bill and the Office of the CIO have responsibility for enterprise technology strategy, governance, and policy. Bill and the Office of the CIO are also responsible for the enterprise information management, security, and to provide technology advisory services to all 37 departments.
Bill is involved in several professional organizations and is the past President of MIX, a national local government CIO consortium. Bill was recognized by Government Technology as one of the Top 25 Doers, Dreamers, and Drivers in 2015. Under Bill’s leadership, King County and Los Angeles County were recognized as a top digital large County by Government Technology. King County was named the #1 digital large county in the 2017, and LA County was the #1 digital large county in 2020.

Executive Vice President and Publisher, Government Technology magazine

Alan is Executive Vice President of e.Republic and Publisher of Government Technology magazine and Techwire. In this role, Alan is involved in the annual production of dozens of events as well as the strategic direction for Governing, Government Technology, Emergency Management, the Center for Digital Government and the Center for Digital Education. Alan is also the senior executive that has overall charge of e.Republic’s research organization which includes, custom research, the Digital Government and Digital Education Navigator tool and the Content Studio (webinars and custom content).
Alan has been a guest lecturer at universities and a frequent speaker for key government and industry organizations. For over 35 years, Alan has worked with industry, education and government officials to help them better understand the importance and use of information technology. Alan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration at California State University, Sacramento.
