The Center for Digital Education is hosting a Market Briefing event in Atlanta, GA and we hope you can join us.

IT leaders from Georgia school districts will be on hand for a special briefing on their technology plans, priorities and focus for the coming years. With over 38,000 students, Cherokee County School District adheres to the belief that technology should play a vital role in meeting the needs of a broad range of abilities, disabilities, cultural backgrounds and ethnic populations. Cherokee County’s vision is to ensure equitable access to current technological resources. Dekalb County School District has over 98,000 students; the district’s mission is to prepare 21st century students to thrive and succeed in a diverse and ever-changing world. Dekalb recognizes that technology is one of the support systems that will foster a culture and learning environment in which teachers and students will be able to perform at high levels, as well as support new innovations. Fulton County School System is committed to providing students access to technology. With over 91,000 students, Fulton supports helping students discover what they need in order to be successful in a 21st century environment. With over 160,000 students, Gwinnett County Public Schools is the largest school system in the state of Georgia. As a high-performing school district, Gwinnet County Public Schools is committed to educating and preparing its students for the demands of the 21st century.

The participants will be briefing the audience on district plans in a variety of topic areas, including computing infrastructure, mobile devices, digital content and curriculum, professional development, cyber security and their plans to incorporate blended learning models. 

This event will allow participants to:
•    Hear directly from CIOs and technology leaders from area school districts
•    Network with fellow industry leaders in the region
•    Learn about the hot issues in the education IT market

Assistant Superintendent of Accountability, Technology & Strategic Planning, Cherokee County School District

In August of 2010, he was promoted to the position of assistant superintendent of accountability, technology and strategic planning. He and his staff of 69 professional educators, technologist, analysts and assessment personnel work tirelessly to provide CCSD students and teachers with a modern, 21st century technology-based infrastructure, curriculum-focused software and hardware resources and progressive and innovative professional development opportunities.

Gary Brantley

Chief Information Officer, DeKalb County School District

Gary Brantley is CIO of DeKalb County School District. DeKalb County School District has over 100,000 students and is the 26th largest school district in the U.S. He began his career about 16 years ago in information technology after graduating from Youngstown State University and earning his Master’s Degree from the University of Phoenix. He recently completed the CIO leadership institute with MIT Sloan School of Management

Dr. Mattt Waymack has been an educator since 1995, and has worked in online and blended learning since 1999 as a teacher, developer and administrator. He is currently a business lead in implementing a district-wide transformational blended learning initiative that is a part of a larger digital Content, Learning, Assessment and Support System (eCLASS) that provides GCPS an enterprise solution for its core business of teaching and learning.
