The Center for Digital Education, in conjunction with Dallas County Schools, is hosting a Market Briefing event in Dallas, TX and we hope you can join us. IT leaders from some of the largest districts in Dallas will be on hand for a special briefing on their technology plans for the coming years.

Little Elm ISD is committed to engaging, equipping and empowering its over 6,000 students through the use of technology. White Settlement ISD is committed to ensuring that technology is effectively integrated into its schools. White Settlement is preparing its 6,000 students to graduate, live and work in a rapidly changing global society. Crandall ISD has nearly 3,000 students and supports the mission of providing engaging, comprehensive, technology-infused curriculum. Richardson ISD’s vision is that 36,000 students will achieve advanced proficiencies in evolving technologies to support life-long learning and success.

This event will allow participants to:

  •  Hear directly from CIOs and technology leaders from area school districts
  •  Network with fellow industry leaders in the region
  •  Learn about the hot issues in the education IT market

Roger Bowen

Roger Bowen

Director of Technology for External Operations, Dallas County Schools/Texserve

Roger Bowen is director of technology for external operations at Dallas County Schools/Texserve. He has served in education and technology for 24 years; first with his own company, Bowen Research and Development, Inc and then with White Settlement ISD. He now oversees the bridging of the gap between instruction and technology. This encompasses managing the systems and networking team to obtain quality back-end technology, as well as the technology instructional coordinators who work directly with teachers to engage students and enhance their education through effective uses of technology tools. Bowen is mission-focused to ensure that educators have what they need to produce high achieving students.

Sandra Hayes

Assistant Superintendent, Technology, Richardson Independent School District

Emphasizing the importance of technology in the Richardson community is Sandra Hayes’ constant goal. She authors the Technology Strategic Plan and leads the Technology Advisory Committee for Richardson Independent School District. Participating in the Metroplex Technology Business Council (Tech Titans), Richardson Chamber of Commerce Education Committee and many advisory boards at Richland College and UTD help keep her grounded in the task at hand. Being an administrator with curriculum and instruction experience has helped her achieve her career goals. Currently, she holds the position of assistant superintendent, technology for the district. Her formal education consists of an Associate’s Degree in Arts and Sciences, a Bachelor’s of Science in Education and a Master of Science degree. Pursuing education as a life-long learner, she recently completed her Superintendent Certification and has been accepted into a Doctoral Program in Learning Technologies.

Director of Technology, Digital Learning and Media Services, Little Elm Independent School District

Russell VanHoose is director of technology, digital learning and media services at Little Elm Independent School District. He holds a Master of Education degree in Education Administration, a Texas Principal Certification and has have five years of district-level instructional leadership experience. He is committed to ensuring that technology engages, equips and empowers students to learn. He draws from his many experiences focused on educational excellence: a classroom teacher, technology teacher, principal and K-12 district technology leader. He has a long history in staff development, focusing on integrating technology into learning environments so that students create, investigate, connect and learn digitally.
