Keynote – Bringing the “It Factor” to ITReed Ballroom C/DAnthony Huey, President, Reputation Management Associates (@anthonyhuey) We’ve all met someone with intangible qualities that draw others in and make them say, “Wow!” Some call it charisma, magnetism, or the “It Factor,” but it’s nearly impossible to define. You can’t touch the It Factor, but you can immediately feel when someone has it. Why do some leaders have this seemingly magical presence, while too many of us come across as extraordinarily ordinary? Anthony Huey has spent the last 20 years as a communications coach answering this question by studying thousands of executives and the qualities that turn managers into inspirational leaders. He has discovered that most anyone can attain some level of the It Factor by understanding and changing how they are perceived while at the same time ratcheting up the willingness to influence and inspire those around them. This fast-paced and interactive keynote address provides practical and immediately implementable approaches to bringing the It Factor not just to you personally but to your organization. |

Concurrent SessionsMaking Sense of Your DataReed Ballroom A/BGovernment by nature is in the data collection business, and there is no shortage of information from which to extract valuable insights. The challenge is to reinvent how to leverage the vast amounts of information to get real results. Emerging next-generation tools include predictive analytics, big data analytics, data visualization, cognitive technology and more. This session explores better ways to tap your data to drive smarter decisions, faster responses and better service. Donald Gilbreath, Solution Engineering Practice, Lead, Salesforce Scarlet Gray, Solutions Architect, Hewlett Packard Enterprise Becki Moore, Informatics Director, State HIE Director, Department of Health, State of Oklahoma Optimizing the Workforce and Workplace of TomorrowReed Ballroom E/FFor years, government has widely reported the onset of the “silver tsunami.” The looming retirement wave is driving the need to accelerate innovative recruitment and retention practices in government at all levels, particularly in IT. Questions about mobility, flexibility, collaboration tools and collaborative spaces are becoming common during the interview process. Yet government is not always prepared to offer competitive answers in today’s legacy environment. This session offers a look at what some innovative organizations are doing to scrap outmoded practices, address modernization and embrace new paradigms. Ashton Carmichael, Strategic Initiatives Specialist, Office of Management & Enterprise Services, State of Oklahoma Dwight Moore, Vice President Enterprise Solutions, +ImageNet Consulting The Future of ConnectivityJoynerOklahoma is comprised of vibrant cities and towns but remains substantially rural throughout the majority of its 77 counties, and connectivity suffers because of that. We know that access to technology enhances education, emergency services, job growth and development, but how do we guarantee Oklahoma is not left behind? This session discusses the state of broadband in our region and the strategies, initiatives and progress being made to improve it. John Fanelli, Sr. Director of Government Solutions, Hughes James D. Hock, State Broadband Coordinator, Office of Management & Enterprise Services, State of Oklahoma (@OklahomaPSBN) James Rose, Sr. Manager of Solution Architects, U.S. Cellular |

General SessionReed Ballroom C/DCyber Crisis Response – How Prepared Are You?Media stories concerning government agencies falling victim to cybercrimes are becoming more and more prevalent. At this point we understand…it is not if you will be breached, but when. There is good news though! There are lessons learned out there to help us be as prepared as possible. There are vital things to know to minimize the potential harm and there are critical courses of action to follow after-the-fact to contain the damage. Some of these guidelines are universal and some might be unique to Oklahoma. This timely session explores the tangible security guidelines we can all implement to prepare, protect and partner our way to a safer cyber landscape. Concurrent SessionsAligning Business with Citizen ExpectationsReed Ballroom A/BUber, Amazon, Alexa, Siri, AirBnB – these are just a few of the innovations that have given rise to entirely new paradigms in customer experience. Can government do the same? Absolutely! There’s no other choice. Sooner or later, it must be done. The good news is that it’s closer and more attainable than one might expect. This session looks at some innovative tools and strategies that will revamp and revitalize government’s relationship with its citizens. Robert Myles, CISSP, CISM, Strategist North American State & Local Government, RSA, the Security Division of Dell Dan Pease, Chief Information Officer, Tulsa County Sarjoo Shah, Chief Information Officer, Human Services, Office of Management & Enterprise Services ISD, State of Oklahoma Simplifying Process ImprovementReed Ballroom E/FMany process improvement initiatives, particularly in government, are complicated, slow and not very flexible. In 2017, Tulsa County began using a four-step process improvement tool that is simple, engaging, flexible, quick and effective. In this session you will experience the tool by creating your own action plan complete with timelines and measurements for improving a system or challenge in your workplace. Alan Vanderberg, Business Analyst, Tulsa County Open Government and Adapting to New RealitiesJoynerThe idea of open government has not changed much with time, but the way we gather, process, store and interact with the information we share has transformed with the digital age. Government wants to go paperless to be effective, but the open records laws are written from a time when paper was king. How do we close that gap to make information more digestible, searchable, shareable and meaningful while still complying with open records law? How can we make this data more meaningful to citizens and policymakers? This session discusses the current situation and ways to foster more openness, efficiency and effectiveness in government. Moderator: Shelley Zumwalt, Director, Public Affairs, Office of Management & Enterprise Services, State of Oklahoma Panelists: John Gregorovic, Director of Information Services, City of Tulsa (@jgregorovic) Robin M. This session details the latest from Oklahoma’s very own innovation initiative. Dustin Crossfield, Director, Technology Services, Office of Management & Enterprise Services ISD, State of Oklahoma |
