Overview

The New York City IT Leadership Forum is where tomorrow’s government leaders grow today.

This invitation-only gathering brings together state and local IT executives, emerging leaders, and visionary thinkers for candid conversations on the future of public-sector technology. Focused on leadership development, innovation, and strategy, the Forum goes beyond the tech to address the people, policies, and practices shaping digital government. Through peer exchange and practical sessions, participants gain the insights, relationships, and skills needed to lead their organizations and communities into the future.

Winners of the 2026 New York City IT Leadership Awards will be celebrated on Thursday, June 18 at the New York IT Leadership Forum in Brookyln, NYC. Please submit your nominations here. Nominations close on Friday, May 1, 2026.

Julia Landauer

Champion Racecar Driver, Podcast Host & Entrepreneur

Julia Landauer is a 2-time champion racecar driver from New York City, having most recently raced in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. She's raced all over the world, including in the NASCAR Euro Series, where she finished 5th overall, the highest ever for an American. Away from the track, Julia graduated from Stanford University with a bachelor of science, was on CBS’ SURVIVOR, and was a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree. Julia is also a motivational keynote speaker and corporate advisor, advocate for STEM education and women’s empowerment, and host of the podcast “If I’m Honest with Julia Landauer.” Julia now works at NASCAR on their Strategy & Innovation team.

Ron Bergmann

Senior Fellow, Center for Digital Government

Ronald M. Bergmann most recently served as vice president for Information Technology and CIO at Lehman College/CUNY. At Lehman, Ron and his team pioneered the use of analytics, automated major business processes, enhanced classroom technology and opened the first virtual reality lab in the region. Lehman was cited as an exemplar in the 2018 Horizon Report for its innovative Lehman 360 digital platform. Ron is a fellow of the EDUCAUSE/CLIR Frye (now Leading Change) Institute and was named in 2017 as one of the nation’s top technologists, transformers and trailblazers by the Center for Digital Education.
Ron previously served as first deputy commissioner of New York City's information technology agency where he was selected by Government Technology magazine as one of the nation's leading individuals redefining and advancing technology's role in government.

Director Cybersecurity Governance and Strategic Planning, New York City Public Schools

Michelle Fuller is the Director of Cybersecurity Governance and Strategic Planning for NYC Public Schools, where she spearheads the digital safety framework for 900,000+ students and 155,000+ staff. She architects "whole-community" security strategies that foster a culture of vigilance and guide the ethical adoption of emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence.
Previously, Michelle served as the Customer Engagement Director for the NYC Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI), acting as a strategic consultant to CIOs across city agencies. Her enterprise IT foundation includes over 20 years of management roles at Verizon, Time Warner, Charter, and CitiGroup.
Blending technical governance with crisis leadership, Michelle has dedicated 14 years to the American Red Cross specializing in disaster assessment and mass sheltering. She holds an MBA from Strayer University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Texas.

Preston Miller, a Senior Director at Palo Alto Networks’ Unit 42, is an accomplished cybersecurity professional with deep subject matter expertise in digital forensics & incident response, and experience leading high-level, complex investigations. He has co-authored several books on digital forensics, including The Python Digital Forensic Cookbook, which was named Digital Forensics Book of the Year by Forensic 4:cast.
Preston joined Unit 42 in 2021 after six years at Stroz Friedberg, where he managed complex incident response and digital forensic matters for clients across a wide range of industries. He helped establish Stroz’s mobile device working group and provided expert testimony on forensic analysis in the cases he worked.

Amir is a Partner in IBM Consulting, where he leads the Public Market AWS Practice and the Analytics & AI @ Scale initiative. He specializes in helping government clients harness the power of cloud, data, and AI to drive transformation. His leadership spans strategy, delivery, and innovation across large-scale AI engagements.
Previously, Sabet served as Chief Data & Analytics Officer for the State of Rhode Island, where he designed and implemented the state’s vision for an Analytics and AI Center of Excellence. He led the data and analytics unit supporting the state’s COVID-19 response and recovery, reporting directly to the governor.
As an AI/ML practice leader, Sabet has helped state and local agencies—including the New York Department of Health, New York Power Authority, and Los Angeles Department of Water—envision, strategize, and build their data and AI capabilities. His work has consistently delivered measurable impact across public sector operations. His key skills include scaling data, analytics and AI operating models, and developing creative ways to reduce risk of AI in public sector.
