Government Technology’s passion is helping spread best practices and spurring innovation in the public sector. The New Jersey Digital Government Summit is designed to do just that. The summit has an advisory board that gathers public- and private-sector leaders to create an agenda designed to make that passion relevant and actionable to the state and local government organizations attending the summit. Participants tell us they use the inspirational keynotes, leadership discussions, networking breaks, and the timely topics discussed in the numerous breakout sessions to help advance the goals of their organizations.

Senior Strategist Cyber Security, AT&T

DuWayne Aikins joined the AT&T Advanced Enterprise Solutions organization (now part of the AT&T Growth Platforms organization) to serve as the Cyber Security Sales Overlay representative to the US Federal/Government market. DuWayne served as AT&T Director of Information Assurance Programs within the National Information Systems organization and had dual responsibilities providing oversight to a number of programs for some of our Government customers as well as the Senior Program Manager for the Managed Trusted Internet Protocol Service (MTIPS). He was responsible for helping to set strategy for our Cyber Security business line, partnering with the Chief Security Office for developing Managed Security Services for the Government market, and being the team lead for Trusted Internet Connection (TIC).

DuWayne has been with AT&T for eight years, serving in Business Development and Program Management and Sales Overlay. In October 2008, DuWayne accepted the role as Senior Program Manager for the Managed Trusted Internet Protocol Service (MTIPS) and was promoted to a Director position in 2010 to help develop business opportunities in support of the Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative. As Senior Program Manager for MTIPS, DuWayne’s focus was to create a partnership with the AT&T Chief Security Organization to design, create, and deploy a TIC compliant infrastructure that includes multiple TIC Portals and Watch Operations Centers throughout the continental U.S.

Chief Technology Officer, City of Newark

Christopher Darby is and has been a technical “team” leader and innovator for the City of Newark the past 20 years.  In accordance with Government and regulatory processes he evaluates, implements and supports technology development, across all City of Newark departments. Christopher applies value-added solutions in accordance with technical standards and best practices; to support the delivery of efficient, effective and secure digital information services for New Jersey’s largest city. 
Among  Chris’ many accomplishments he managed his team through a hands-on approach to build Newark’s fiber-optic computer network, connecting a large municipal campus, to support a number of application services for users to improve productivity and drive down cost by paving the way for a more collaborative “Government” process. He also implemented Newark’s Enterprise GIS Network, “NEWGIN” and a shared service application “NewView” which gives departmental agencies, residents and online visitor’s access to the type of geospatial information that is unique to “Local” Government. His collaboration with the State of New Jersey and Newark’s Office of Emergency Management led to the creation of a successful project template model for the use of GIS to support UASI “First Responders” in the Northeast region of the State. This “Certified Public Manager” and IT Technical Strategist has also presented “Effective use of GIS in County and Local Government” at the ESRI User Conference in San Diego, CA and at the Geo-Spatial Forum. He also sits on a number of technology advisory boards.

Casey is an experienced manager with over 10 years in eGovernment operations, and has been the General Manager of NICUSA-New Jersey for the last six years. His team is responsible for the launch of dozens of custom-built online applications and backend payment processing. Casey brings a wide range of skills to his role, including business development, team leadership, finance, and project management for online applications and website development. The public-private partnership between the State and NICUSA-New Jersey team has yielded several online services under a self-funded model that allows citizens and businesses to more easily interact with state government. Services built under Casey’s leadership in New Jersey include business records online, temporary vehicle tags, online notary applications and crash report requests.

Hamza Jahangir leads the Enterprise Architecture Practice for the North America Public Sector organization. As the leader of the Practice, Hamza sets direction and strategy for the Public Sector architecture and IT strategy market and oversees both sales and delivery across all key public sector accounts (including clients from U.S. Federal, State & Local and Canadian Governments). Hamza is a well-recognized and published Oracle author on the topics of Data Security, SOA, Cloud Computing and Enterprise Architecture. Hamza has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Northeastern University and an MBA from Georgetown University.

Geoff Korrub has served as a Principal Architect within the Advanced Technologies Solution group at Juniper Networks.  He currently supports Juniper’s largest customers from within the Center of Excellence.

Throughout his tenure Mr. Korrub has specialized in providing architectural guidance to organizations within the financial services and e-commerce verticals.  As well as providing direct feedback into product development teams to align product portfolio with market demand.

Within the financial services sector Mr. Korrub has worked with a range of customer types including but not limited to the exchanges, distribution and aggregation networks that provide market feeds, algorithmic traders and large banking institutions. Mr. Korrub has engaged throughout the financial services on use cases that are in production as well as next generation technologies for for banking institutions such as UBS, BNY Mellon and Goldman Sachs,  as well as exchanges such as CME and NYSE in the US and all major exchanges througout Hong Kong and China.

Joined Hitachi Data Systems in 2009 and now works within the Global Software and Services Division.  He currently directs product management for the Hitachi Content Platform (HCP), HCP Anywhere and Hitachi Data Ingestor (HDI) products.  Prior, he led product management for the HCP and the HCP Anywhere products.
 
Mr. Nyman has 27 years of experience in high tech engineering, engineering management, and product management.  He holds a Bachelors of Computer Science from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Northeastern University where he achieved membership to the business honor society Beta Gamma Sigma.
