Industry Insider – California members are invited to attend this in-person exclusive briefing with Chief Information Officer Lea Eriksen and Deputy Director of Technology & Innovation Department Rob Centano from multi-year Digital Cities award winner City of Long Beach.
The City of Long Beach’s Technology & Innovation Department (TID) is driving the city’s modernization agenda from expanding its resilient fiber backbone to deploying next-gen resident services like the “Go Long Beach 311” app and AI virtual assistant, while embedding cybersecurity protections, responsible AI oversight, and a digital inclusion roadmap that ensures equitable access for all neighborhoods. TID’s Smart City governance and LB Co-Lab pilot framework enable rapid testing and scaling of innovative solutions, providing a clear pathway for industry partners to plug into city priorities. The department oversees enterprise systems that support public safety, permitting, and data management across all city operations. It also leads efforts to coordinate technology policy, manage vendor contracts, and ensure that new digital tools are accessible, secure, and responsive to resident needs.
