Industry Insider – Texas members are invited to attend this in-person exclusive briefing with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority (CapMetro).
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is one of the nation’s largest transportation agencies, responsible for maintaining more than 80,000 miles of roadway and supporting aviation, rail, and public transportation across a vast and diverse state. Recognizing the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the safety, efficiency, and reliability of transportation systems to optimize business operations, TxDOT recently updated its comprehensive AI Strategic Plan to include strategic priorities, use cases, best practices, and recommendations to guide TxDOT's adoption of AI over the next three years.
The Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority (CapMetro) is the regional public transportation provider for Austin and surrounding communities in Travis and Williamson counties, operating bus, paratransit, and the CapMetro Rail hybrid rail system serving nearly 27 million riders annually. The agency recently unveiled “Transit Plan 2035,” a comprehensive blueprint guiding how its transit system will grow, modernize, and adapt to future mobility needs over the next decade and beyond. The plan provides a forward-looking roadmap for system expansion, service optimization and infrastructure investment, emphasizing data-informed planning, technology adoption, and performance measurement.
This briefing lets IT vendors hear firsthand from TxDOT and CapMetro leadership about their strategic IT priorities, current initiatives and long-term goals.
