The COVID-19 pandemic exposed urgent needs to transform government processes and modernize technologies. Priority lists for today’s state and local government CIOs include expanding digital government services, replacing legacy systems, leveraging data for decision-making, and securing these expansive new efforts. But rethinking how governments operate internally and deliver services to the public can’t be done by CIOs alone. This work will demand tighter partnerships between technologists and business leaders.
The second event in the Accela/Microsoft CIO roundtable series will focus on how governments can deliver on digital transformation by leveraging these partnerships and the right foundational elements. This invitation-only virtual event will bring together technology experts, department directors and executive leaders for a unique conversation on using technology to move government into a new era. The output of this conversation will also help shape new guidance to be released for local governments to apply to their own digital transformation efforts.
