Local government IT leaders in Central Texas have gathered together with the leadership of Government Technology’s Digital Communities program for the past three years to discuss timely topics of interest for their organizations. The purpose of the Central Texas Regional CIO meeting is to provide a forum for collaboration and mutual support to Chief Information Officers and their staffs so that they can more effectively meet the IT needs of their government agencies and stakeholders.

General Session – The Letter “C” and all that ImpliesChief Information Officer. Chief Innovation Officer. Chief Digital Officer. Chief Geo-Spatial Officer. The list seems endless today and what does that mean to the CIO/IT Director? Where do they report? Why are they here, there and everywhere? Is this a turf battle or an opportunity to divide and conquer? Is there a natural tension between the chiefs and is this a good thing? This will be an open and candid discussion with the “Chiefs” in the room about the other chiefs and how to work with them, have them work for you or avoid them! |
